3. Media Publicity Plan

In order to assure the positive outcome of ATU Project planning and execution, and boost communication and information publicity, NTU placed a special section on its homepage for the Top 100 University Project. This section divides the current results of project strategies and measures into Teaching Excellence, Research Innovation, Campus Culture, International Exchange, Infrastructure, Administrative Streamlining, and College Development. In addition to regular updates and announcements, the following means of publicity are utilized to communicate to university students, faculty and staff , alumni, and society at large the outcomes of NTU's promotional plan, so as to bring the eff orts and pride of the NTU community together around the project.

3.1. Publications

A series of special reports in color on the ATU Project has been added to the weekly university bulletin. The NTU Newsletter was launched in June 2007, reporting on major university news, student and faculty honors and awards, outstanding research achievements, international exchanges, and major forums on a quarterly basis.

3.2. e-Bulletins

The NTU Alumni Electronic Bulletin, launched in October 2005, is issued on the first of every month. The NTU Alumni E-news, published since May 2007, is a bi-monthly publication established to report regularly to university alumni on major school aff airs and developments related to the Top 100 project as well as outstanding research fi ndings.

3.3. Internet Publicity

From July 2006 the NTU homepage has carried a Spotlight section, issued on the first and fi fteenth of each month; the Highlights section is issued on the first of each month to publicize the university's latest developments.

3.4. Internet Platform

Since undergoing a makeover, the NTU Web site reached top 100 traffic volume in 2006 for its rich assortment of content and updated information, achieving a number 159 ranking among all university Web sites worldwide. According to a July 2007 worldwide university Web site Webometrics ranking conducted by the Scientific Information and Document Center of Spain's National Research Commission, NTU's homepage raised the bar yet again with a number 96 ranking worldwide, second in Asia to only Tokyo University.

3.5. Outstanding Research Presentations

In addition to announcing outstanding research findings via the university bulletin, NTU Newsletter, NTU Alumni Electronic Bulletin, NTU Alumni E-news, and the Web page, the university presents occasional special reports to outside media on outstanding research. Utilizing the power of publications, media publicity, and communications, the university's pursuit of elite status, alignment with the pulse of global academia, inroads into the international community, and establishment of an image of professionalism are known across many fields at home and abroad, among which NTU's long record of outstanding research is well known. At the same time, these efforts have raised NTU's international profile and established a platform for exchange with the world's top universities.
