G. Comprehensive Academic Enhancement Project
For comprehensive academic enhancement, all 11 colleges of NTU have conducted in-depth planning. The dean of each college organized a strategic development committee to formulate its "Comprehensive Academic Enhancement Project" and related measures. For effective control of project implementation and achievement, an implementation control and performance evaluation taskforce was formed to monitor and ensure project completion. Each college also helped its departments and graduate institutes establish international benchmarks. For instance, College of Engineering selected "Tokyo University College of Engineering," number one college in Asia, and "University of Washington, College of Engineering," number 17 in the world," as the target colleges. Meanwhile, all departments and graduate institutes, in accordance with their individual features, have also selected international universities as development goal models. Human resources and facilities of departments and graduate institutes going through bottlenecks have been strengthened. To widen the international vision of the faculty and student body, subsidies are provided to help teachers and graduate students to take part in international conferences and publish papers. Internationally renowned scholars have also been invited to visit NTU and give lectures. NTU has also organized various international conferences. Outlines of the enhancement plans of the 11 colleges are introduced below.
