D. Strengthening Infrastructure and the Computer Software and Hardware Environment

NTU has engaged in upgrading infrastructure, renovating old buildings and constructing new buildings in order to build a sustainable excellent teaching and research campus befitting a leading university as well as meeting the need for space for the university's future development. Items slated for improvement include: the Environmental Research Building, the new construction project for dormitories for new instructors and academicians, the "Teaching and Learning Buildings Stage 1 New Construction Project," the new construction project for intercollegiate and interdepartmental experimental animal centers, the new construction project for research excellence buildings, the new construction project for campus greenhouses, the construction project for the sewage and wastewater systems of all teaching and research centers on the NTU Main Campus, and the upgrading project for campus-wide highvoltage electrical distribution stations. Moreover, with the goal of increasing the quality of teaching and research, NTU has also taken active steps to provide additional books and instruments for research centers and libraries and to make improvements to fundamental computer software and facilities.
